For many years my dog Kyoto suffered a variety of health issues.  As a seemingly responsible pet owner, I was stunned to discover that the choices I was making regarding Kyotos food were the root causes of his maladies.  His food simply was not nutritious enough and it failed to provide him with the quality sustenance he needed to live a healthy, full life.   With further research, I realized that Kyotos food, as well as a lot of others on the market, actually contained an overabundance of bad ingredients.  These ingredients were not fit for human or animal consumption and were in fact dangerous and extremely harmful to the health of whatever digested it. 

The more I delved into healthier food options, the more I realized that there were thousands of other pet owners searching for better alternatives than what the pet stores and grocery chains were providing.  Several people I met were struggling to gain access to the few organic and natural foods on the market.  The variety was slim and the distribution even slimmer.  I resorted to ordering Kyotos kibble from another state, but deep down I was bothered that no distributer had identified this need or taken steps to satisfy the growing demand. 

As people started to inquire about the natural diet I was feeding Kyoto, I began to influence others to educate themselves on the benefits a holistic diet could bring to their cat or dog.  Pretty soon I was selling natural pet food out of my home and the bed of my truck to my friends and neighbors.  You might say the rest is history.  Within a few months, my passion for companion animal wellbeing turned into a business and my mission was crystal clear:  to help pet owners help their pets to live long, healthy lives. 

Over 15 years later, Holistic Pet Source remains committed to providing the best quality natural pet foods, treats, supplements, and care products.  Our assortment has grown, as well as our distribution reach, but we continue to be devoted to our customers, regardless of their size.  We are persistent with our goal to transform the pet food industry and are continuously looking to form supplier relationships with the best food producers in the world.
